NEXT MEETING- Tuesday, June 16, at 11:30 (pre-meeting socializing at 11:00). Another high- (well, medium) tech Zoom session. We are in no hurry to reassemble a group in a small room, and as yet Festival Foods has not signaled that their meeting room can be made available. So, gather up your electronic device of choice, and Pres. DALE will bang the digital gavel. Technical details on which buttons to push in order to participate will follow. Note that if you have the right gear you can both see and be seen, but there is also an option to participate by telephone, audio only.
Current members will be sent instructions on how to access a Zoom meeting “under separate cover”. If you're a not a member but are interested in participating, contact us.
This is a Program Meeting, and we have a speaker - Travis Currier. He spoke to us once before, and this time his topic title will be “Talk With Travis About ‘New Normal’ Strategies”. In today’s world, where there is no normal that the Editor can perceive, this gives him a lot of room to run, starting with whose definition of “New Normal” he’s going to try to explain. Clearly, the “New Normal” implies change, and there is a lot of it going on. You will have to attend the meeting on Zoom to find out which part of the New Chaos he is going to try to explain. (Personal flashback for the Editor - that last sentence sounds exactly like what HAL OTTERBACK would have said in this space.)
At the last meeting, it was reported that JOHN JENSON has his list of eyeglass donation boxes pretty well completed. A copy is available for your information on our web site (look at the menu at the top, under Vision) and if you remember any other locations, let JOHN know.
Our intrepid Highway Cleanup crew, SCOTT GROVER, ROSS ROYSTER, DALE BURMESTER,JOHN JENSON and MIKE KNOWLTON, plowed through the tall grass in record time. They accumulated six bags of trash, but nothing of value either currency-wise or archaeologically.
The Board approved a budget for the coming year, knowing that it is subject to revision, particularly on the income side, because of the extraordinary circumstances we now have. Just about everything of importance has come to a screeching halt, or else is being reworked on the fly as it takes place.
Terri Lynn Fundraiser - BECKY FRAIRE has been exploring using an online fund raiser to sell Terri Lynn products. This would allow us to generate some income without having to physically handle the inventory. More to come.
